Discrimination, harassment and whistleblowing

Home / Employment law services

Respond to allegations promptly, preserve evidence and protect a fair process for everyone involved.

What we help you decide

Respond to workplace complaints. We assess the relevant documents, explain the available routes and agree the scope of advice before taking further steps.

Assess the complaint

Distinguish discrimination linked to a protected characteristic, harassment, wider interpersonal conflict and protected disclosures. Identify immediate protective steps, potential conflicts of interest and who should conduct the investigation. Do not promise absolute confidentiality if a fair investigation requires disclosure.

Investigation and protection

Set a proportionate scope, preserve relevant material lawfully, interview appropriate witnesses and document findings. Consider interim measures without prejudging the outcome. Retaliation risks, data protection and participation rights should be addressed throughout the process.

Claims and remedies

Potential remedies include cessation, compensation, damages and employment measures, depending on the facts and legal basis. AGG claims can involve short assertion and court deadlines. Whistleblower protection is not a blanket exemption from all employment duties, and an unsuccessful allegation is not automatically misconduct.

Practical example

A manager receives a complaint about promotion decisions and offensive comments. We help define the investigation, protect the reporting employee and assess the evidence before recommending corrective measures or a response to a claim.
